I was born on Christmas Eve. An old legend states that people born on that day can talk to animals. I've always felt a special connection with animals, but never felt I was really talking to them until I started taking classes in 2006 from Terri O'Hara, a professional animal communicator. To my surprise, I found I had a talent for animal communication! When Terri offered a year-long apprenticeship in 2009, I applied and was accepted. Upon completing the apprenticeship I began my own practice, Telling Tails.
My husband John and I live in Denver with two cats (D'oro and deChelly) and two dogs (Hudson and Meryl). We have been volunteer Puppy Raisers for Canine Companions for Independence since 2001, and we are currently raising Zero, our 12th puppy. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa.
